I, Raina Gupta, 45 years in age, come from a simple family where girls are given freedom but they are meant to be good housewives. But my passion towards baking and hunger to do something in life, turned me from a housewife to an entrepreneur. This journey was not so easy for me. I started learning small baking courses according to the time I could take out from my daily routine. With focus, I tried to learn more, through trial and error methods, to achieve the level I wished for. I worked hard mentally and physically, with small kids and keeping a balance between home and work. I started taking a few orders from home only. People didn’t take me seriously as an entrepreneur. But with focus and continuous hard work towards achieving the best, now I am running my bakery from home. I slowly developed my own recipes for cakes and desserts. I now give professional training to those who want to take up bakery as their profession. I truly feel that a simple housewife has the potential to make herself independent, without any intellectual or professional degree. I have learned a lot through this process. I am much more managed, confident and active than before. I have added few feathers to my cap. I supply tea time cakes to a cafe in Shahpurjat where they have an amazing response for the cakes. I participated in Rasoi Queen Contest where my eggless fruit cake was very much appreciated by Ms. Nita Mehta and got selected. I participated in Contest Chulha Chauka which aired on AnjanTV and I was in Top 8 contestants due to my baking skills and experience. I was invited to Bal Bharti Public School to judge a kids cookery contest where 26 schools participated. I was also among the winners in Kahin Gum Na Ho Jayein Cookery Contest 2016. Recently I got a huge order from socialite Priya Sachdeva for her event on 22nd December 2016. I aspire to start my own training center for culinary arts.
